Hand Made Breads & Pastries

Technological progress has contributed little to the ancient art of baking except to make each bakery less and less unique. At Fox & Obel's full-service bakery, no commercial yeast is used and machines never shape our bread. Each hearth-baked loaf is carefully hand shaped by bakers who have apprenticed side by side with our Executive Baker for more than eight years.

Our pastries as well as our breads are made from fresh, natural ingredients. This is how we let the flavors of those ingredients shine through. You can taste the tartness of zested lemon in the lemon pound cake, intense chocolate in the chocolate tart, the sweetness of the grain in the whole-wheat boule. Bakery favorites include French baguettes, peasant sour dough, whole grain breads, cinnamon swirls, almond and walnut breads, chocolate croissants, cupcakes, layer cakes and chocolate bread pudding. We're always happy to fill special orders.
