The Atrium Wine Bar at Fox & Obel Opens
The Atrium Wine Bar at Fox & Obel has arrived! At the corner of Illinois and McClurg, a rustic room with a view of the Ogden Slip sheds its daytime identity as Cafe seating and cooking class space and transforms into a white-tablecloth-clad restaurant complete with candles, music, dedicated servers, a bartender and smiling host.
About the Atrium Wine Bar at F&O
Fox & Obel introduces its new concept to Chicago: a changing seasonal menu paired with wines, all of which are available for purchase in the Market, so guests can recreate the experience at home. The 50-seat Atrium Wine Bar space features exposed brick and wood and a view of the river at its best; the room offers a relaxed but elegant ambiance that makes this the perfect destination for company as diverse as a first date, old friend or out-of-town guest.
"We're so excited to expand our offerings to our customers with this new concept," Polly Peters, General Manager said. "The Atrium Wine Bar extends our passion for quality ingredients already evident in our Market, Cafe and Catering services to a new restaurant at our current location."
Food & Wine
The wine list offers more than two dozen wines by the glass and bottle, representing France, Italy, California and more, and includes reds, whites and sparkling wines. Wine Flights include the following selections: Champagne and Sparkling Wines, California Reds, Chardonnays from Burgundy, California and Australia, and Wines from Piedmont. Flights range from $13 to $15 for three 3 oz. pours.
Menu highlights include starters such as American Artisanal and European cheese plates and market selections like truffle mousse and San Daniele Prosciutto on a Charcuterie Plate. Entrees like Pumpkin & Roasted Duck Risotto and Autumn Braised Beef Stew are each paired with three suggested wines by the glass. A dessert selection from Fox & Obel's award-winning in-house bakery is available nightly with favorites like Classic Crème Brulee, Valrhona Flourless Chocolate Cake, and an Anjou Pear & Apple Crisp.
